Cisco announced on Monday that they are to invest $1 billion over the next to years to build the world’s largest cloud network. The investment will go on building data centers to support its expanded Cisco Cloud Services including Cisco intercloud.

Cisco plans to discriminate itself from other cloud computing companies by building an architecture that allows for open cloud. in this way, Cisco will have an edge in an increasingly competitive market.
