FireEye, a cybersecurity provider announced this week that they have acquired Mandiant for $1 Billion. These companies are younger than cybersecurity companies like Symantec but both are quickly evolving. FireEye’s threat prevention has yielded an increase in revenue for up to 90 percent in 2013 and Mandiant’s automated end-user threat response has generated over $100 million in annual sales.

Also, FireEye and Mandiant had previously agreed to a technology development agreement. This agreement is an acknowledgement that customers are seeking protection which can benefit when customers are using both platforms.
