Mega, a cloud service provider has just announced its Firefox extension which aims to improve download speed and get rid of file size limits. Mega is a cloud storage and file sharing hosting provider that is owned by Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload. Mega has a more secured encryption mechanism and has more payment opportunities and has hosting integration using a separate partner program. It is expected to launch within a few weeks.

The Firefox plugin will allow users to batch download unlimited number of files. It is under preliminary review by Mozilla. The plugin will run in the background and it does not takes up space in the browser.
