firehostFireHost announced on Tuesday that there are over 64 million malicious attacks were blocked by its servers in the US and Europe in 2012. The report also shows that cross-scripting attacks were the most common type last year.

Web application attack statistics show that cross-site scripting attacks rose over one million in Q3 2012 to 2.6 million in the fourth quarter – an increase of 160 percent.
