GoDaddy announced on Thursday that they have acquired the domain name aftermarket company, Afternic. This acquisition is GoDaddy’s fourth acquisition for the past 14 months. Most of the acquisition was focused on shifting the brand to serve small businesses but GoDaddy’s acquisition on Afternic seems to focus more on the domain-side of the business.

GoDaddy plans to keep Afternic staffed in the Boston area, and is also keeping SmartName domain packing service.
