Netflix announced on Monday that it has open sourced its technology that can control interactions between distributed services. The open source technology is called Hystrix. Hystrix is a library  which isolates the points of access within services, stops cascading failures, and provides fallback options. Hystrix could be useful in building service-oriented architectures in the Amazon web services cloud. Hystix is born out of NetFlix engineering API which began last year and since then it is now used across many teams within NetFlix. Hystrix is also available in Github.

According to NetFlix, it will release real time dashboard for monitoring Hystrix in the future.
