IBM announced on Thursday that they will acquire Trusteer, a cloud security provider for an undisclosed amount. This purchase is the latest in a series of recent IBM acquisitions which includes virtualization management company technology firm, CSL International, a cloud hosting provider, SoftLayer, and cloud accelerator software developer UrbanCode.

 

Trusteer offers security and threat inteigence that safeguard companies from threats and financial fraude, data breaches, and malware.

Along with this acquisition, IBM will open a cybersecurity lab in Israel that will be manned by 200 Trusteer and IBM researchers and developers. Their role is to research advanced threat, malware, financial crimes, counter-fraud, and mobile security solutions.
