storedIQ logoTechnology giant, IBM announced on Tuesday that they will acquire StoredIQ, an information management solution company, over an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013. With this acquisition, IBM will improve its data capabilities through responding more efficiently to litigation and regulations, dispose of information that has outlive its purpose for lower data costs.

This deal will also enable IBM to expand their Information LifeCycle governance cabapilities which can provide solutions to improve business information utility.
StoredIQ provides scalable analysis and governance of disparate and distributed email as well as collaboration sites and file shares.
