Telofonica-Owned VoIP services, Jajah will close on January 31, 2014 four years after it has been acquired by European carrier Telafinica for $207 million. According to the announcement on Monday, Jajah customers will not be able to make calls through any of its services including or Jajah direct at the end of January. The website will no longer be accepting new registrations and users can still use their account until the shutdown date.

Jajah will give users their money back on any balance remaining prior to Jan 31, however, customers should make a request in the support page so the order can be qualified for refund.

Telafonica hasn’t shared any specifics about the closure but it may be because Jajah has been losing money and they couldn’t compete with Skype.
