Kim Dot Com is suing New Zealand government for $4 million for the raid of his mansion last year in connection with MegaUpload. The search warrants that were used to raid Dotcom’s mansion was founded to be illegal because it did not accurately describe the offenses that were related. A spokeperson of Dotcom told The Wall Street Journal that the reason for filing a lawsuit was to get more information on what lead to the government spying and raiding on DotCom and that any money raised through the lawsuit will be donated to charity.

 

The lawsuit has been filed in Auckland’s high court by Dotcom, his wife, and four others.
