Microsoft is acquiring New Zealand-based startup, GreenButton. The company announced this on Thursday in a blog post, but the terms of the deal has not been disclosed.

According the the website, GreenButton provides cloud solutions for compute-intensive application. GreenButton’s flagship product, called the GreenButton Cloud Fabric is design for enterprises particularly in engineering, finance, digital media, government, biotechnology, digital media, etc.


Microsoft Azure will integrate GreenButton’s solutions and SDK to its cloud platform thus enabling more capabilities around big data and compute. According to Microsoft, the existing GreenButton service will no longer be available to new customers.
