Amazon’s cloud computing platform is having connectivity issue  in its US-EAST-1 Region between 7:04 a.m. and 8:54 a.m. Pacific. There were connectivity issues in the certain instances in the availability zone.

There were also increased error in rates and latencies for the APIs in Elastic Block Storage and increased error rates for the EBS-backed instance launches. Instances were unreachable using public IP but were able to communicate with other instances in the same availability zone using a private IP address.

The issue has impacted major AWS customers like Heroku, Flickr, and parts of GitHub. The East Region is the companies most popular region but is also the oldest region.
