RackSpace is making a priority for employees to contribute to any public, open source project. These also includes the ones that even competes with RackSpace according to the new policy of the company. According to the blog post by RackSpace VP Van Lindberg, the policy which previously require employees to check with IP Committee/legal department before contributing has no case where its employees came to the department with unreasonable request.

Rackspace employees are now free to contribute and participate and any public open source project of their choice. According to Lindberg, they value the creativity and they want them to be encouraged to build and showcase their expertise and specialties.
