New York Times released their first feature on energy and sustainabilitiy issue on the internet and the article received scathing response from the data center industry. The article is based on the research that has been done over the past year but still, despite this effort, many research feel one-sided and most are outdated since data center design have changed a lot. Facebook for example has opened its own water and energy usage for its Oregon data center and more than 20 percent of Google’s data center are made from renewable energy. This is why New York Times article is only half of  what today’s data center actually is.
