In preparation for Frankenstorm Sandy, Nirvanix will move its customer away from its Node 4 data center in New Jersey. Hurricane Sandy is expected to hit the shores at the same time Monday evening. The program will enable customers that are storing data in Node 4 to move their data to another location within the company’s storage network for free. Customers then have the option to either be in another location temporarily or permanently. While this is just a pre-emptive move, Nirvanix is sure that their data centers are equipped to handle disaster scenarios as they have redundant diesel-powered generators, and UPS to make sure outages won’t exist and customers can move to another data center without downtime.
