VMWare announced on April 15 that they are offering an new cloud-based disaster recovery service. This service will be available through vCloud Hybrid Service data centers which are currently locatd in the US and the UK.

According to VMWare, since almost half of the businesses see hybrid cloud as a long term strategy, this offer might convince them to adapt to it more quickly.

VMWare vCloud Hybrid Service offers enterprise-class disaster recovery. The cloud is considered an enterprise level when it has multiple levels of security through physical blocks and infrastructure and software. This service offers RPO or Recovery Point Objective of up to 15 minutes and works continously to replicate virtual machines into virtual data centers.
